The Band Played On

The Podcast

The Band Played On is a CBC Ottawa Podcast hosted and written by CBC Ottawa's Senior Investigative reporter, Julie Ireton.  Julie spent more than a year investigating the complicated web of historical sexual abuse by three teachers, Donald Greenham, Bob Clarke, and Tim Stanutz that took place over the span on five decades in the west end of Ottawa.   As of January 2020 the Podcast has been downloaded over 1 million times.

I first spoke with CBC's Senior Investigative Reporter, Julie Ireton on March 20, 2018.  She began an exhaustive year long investigation into the abuse that happened to students by three teachers over five decades at local schools.

The 2019 Ottawa Fringe Festival

In December 2018, students from Canterbury High created a theatrical documentary of Julie Ireton's lead story, "No More Secrets" for the Ottawa Fringe Festival.  The group, called Spare Change Theatre has created this piece and performed it June 15 and 22, 2019
